The Collet Derby is the flagship event that closes the ski season and is a must, an institution at the resort. Organised by the non-profit organizations of the resort, this event brings together all skiers and snowboarders one last time on the slopes of Le Collet.
The Collet derby: a real institution
Do you like snow sports, are you always present in the resort or do you want to go there especially for the occasion? The Collet Derby promises exceptional sensations. With its first edition 15 years ago, the Collet Derby brings together all skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and anyone else who has anything that can slide.
Don’t look for the race officials, the Collet derby is above all a fun race that brings together fun, pleasure and all those who visited the resort during the season.
A well-prepared organisation
As this derby is an unmissable event and is undoubtedly one of the highlights, it requires a minimum of seriousness.
The slopes have been reworked if there is not enough snow, insurance and bibs with race numbers for the competitors are given out at the bottom of the chairlifts. And then a 2 hour reconnaissance time is planned for the competitors so they can familiarise themselves with the run before setting off.
After a short ascent, it’s time to take off down the slope and for Paco the Mascot, who is part of the event, too. Everyone goes down the slope at their own pace and according to their abilities. Although the stopwatch still puts the pressure on, the main thing is to end the season in style.
Of course such an event can only end beautifully with a drink around a hot green or a hot chocolate. A must not to be missed, even if you are only a spectator.
